One Major Flaw for Me,
I bought this TV at Costco right when it came out and have been using it in my bedroom for a few weeks. The TV is great in terms of size and picture quality and especially inputs which is why I bought it.
That said there are three problems for me.
The first is minor and that is that the bezel lights up to show the vizio logo and touch buttons. The light is quite bright and does not dim while you are watching the TV so it is pretty distracting, especially the logo which is large.
The second is my main problem and that is that the TV is just too loud. I use it in my bedroom and, when it is quiet, a volume of 1 is bordering on too loud. If you kick it up to 2 or 3 it is REALLY loud. A volume of 10 or more is ear-shattering even when not in a quiet room. This is very strange and seems almost like some sort of software bug where the entire volume range is shifted to the left. HDMI inputs having basically no signal loss are even louder than the A/V and Component inputs.
The third problem is that this TV doesn’t seem to have a zoom function to allow letter-boxed 4:3 shows to fill the screen. This is a problem if you are using any video sources where this can occur (I have it hooked up to a TiVo series2 for instance)
So I really want to like this TV but the volume problem is becoming a deal-breaker for me. I tried contacting customer support by email and got no response as well so if that sort of thing matters to you take that into consideration.

|Great TV, Great Price,
I bought this tv for my college dorm room. The picture quality is excellent, which is what I expected. What I didn’t expect was the great sound quality. Taking into consideration that this tv is so small and thin, the speakers are good enough that you don’t need a set of external speakers. My tv isn’t super loud like the other review says, so I guess he just got unlucky and got a defective one. I use this tv to play xbox and as a computer monitor (both using HDMI) and it works great for both purposes. Although the stand looked a little unstable to me, after setting it up I found that it works just as well as any other stand. Would have been perfect if it had one more HDMI port.

|VIzio-No longer the crap brand!,
I bought this TV for my dorm after a few months of researching. Its really one of the best values out there for its size. The retail price is something like $320, thats frankly ridiculous! I paid $240 at BJ’s. The 22” TV market is really bad. You have on one side the budget Sylvania Models or the “good” brands that cost and arm and a leg. I had always had the impression that Vizio was just another budget brand, but after doing many comparison shopping trips and watching the TV, its clear that Vizio is to TVs as Hyundai is to cars. Hyundai came to the US with terrible quality cars that were cheap. Vizio came to the market with TVs that had a reputation for being cheap. Slowly, Hyundai improved their quality and now are considered an excellent value. Same thing with Vizio. They say 1080p doesn’t matter unless its a really big TV, but for the price its a nice feature just knowing its there. As for the sound: I’m not even using this as a factor in my review. Has anyone ever heard the speakers of ANY other flat-panel TV? Seriously. They ALL suck. I have never heard a flat-panel TV with good sound. I have a 42” Samsung, 32” Samsung and 19” Sylvania and all of them have terrible sound. Its just not worth even considering when you’re in the market for TVs. After all, you’re spending all that money on an HDTV, can’t you afford to get a set of cheap speakers?
The internet Apps feature is awesome. I had initially seen the TV and was intrigued, but not really sold because I figured you’d need to plug it in to your router. Then I found out it had Wi-Fi! Needless to say, I was pretty impressed! The Apps are really cool, though I don’t see much use in going on Facebook on your TV. The Netflix App is very very useful and works flawlessly.
Seriously consider this TV. Go to your local electronics store and compare it to the other TVs on the wall. Its equal to if not better than the other models.

|Great Picture, not the best Sound,
I bought this tv from Target as soon as available. I took it home hooked it up, and the picture was fantastic. I played around with the different features, checked my facebook, watched part of a movie on netflix, and I watched part of the NBA Finals. All of these were crystal clear…
The one problem is the sound. If you are used to listening to an old computer monitor with built in speakers, then you are probably fine. If you have watched tv on a regular tv then you will be heartbroken. The sound is just terrible. It does not get the loudest and it just plain sounds like a poorly designed computer monitor.
Sound was just a deal breaker, so I brought it back and bought a Samsung.

|Great picture and wireless in the bedroom,
Bought this TV for the VIA Internet Application. Not expecting great sound from a Razor thin TV, I added a pair of Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for under $10. Turn off the SRS TruSurround HD in the advanced audio menu and it sounds just fine. Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers
