I bought this TV (LG 50PZ750 plasma) for Father's Day and had it just less than a month. I LOVED it..easy to set up,remote easy to use, GREAT picture, accessed Netflix easily, yadayadayada...UNTIL one morning we turned it on, after having the power completely off, and the screen was tinted RED all over. After some time it would flicker between a normal picture and the black/red picture. I googled LG PLASMA PROBLEM and found something about LGs,Phillips, and Magnavox plasmas having this problem. Didn't need to read any more so I called AMAZON and asked to return it for a refund. I'm SOOOOO glad I bought it through Amazon...no hassel..no shipping charges..veerry easy. Their shipping company just comes to my house and picks it up.I was also just within the 30 day return limit. I'm replacing it with a Samsung Pn51D7000, a little pricier, but also a great deal on Amazon.
I STRONGLY suggest that any TV buyer do these 2 things:
1. SAVE the shipping box, you can't get a refund without it)
2. Buy an extended WArranty from SQUARETRADE.
I bought the warranty (4 yrs, about 135.00 with promocode on their site) and Squaretrade REFUNDED the entire amount since the TV was being returned. All in all, I loved the TV , but because I bought through Amazon I was able to get a full refund and not have to go through the Manufacturer's service process.

My previous TV was a three-year old Panasonic HDTV 50" plasma and so I'm able to review this TV with some experience with another set that had similar specifications. I wasn't expecting massive leaps in image quality and merely purchased this TV because of the low price it was at and the fact that I wanted the 3D experience.

I have to say however that once tweaked, this set is leaps and bounds beyond my older TV. The image is clearer and is much brighter. Of course as I said you have to tweak it to get that perfect image and by far in a way the most essential tweak is to switch off the terrible energy saving option that infects this television. The theory is this 'intelligently' dims areas of the unneeded sections of the screen to save power since plasmas draw a lot of juice. The reality, however, is everything looks dirty and dim even at 100% brightness. In fact with the energy saving setting on, the more I tweaked things, the dimmer the TV seemed to get. Thankfully it's just a quick disable of this option and retina-burning brightness is the wonderful result. Just how I like it.

Once I was satisfied with the image settings I immediately played the IMAX 'Ultimate Wave Tahiti' 3D blu ray to stretch its legs. And I was blown away. Everything looked so clear yet... in 3D! And I love the fact that the menu options are also in 3D meaning that tweaking the depth settings whilst playing a 3D movie is extremely easy (and quite effectively bizarre).

Now there's a lot of features on this set - youtube, web browser, vudu, games, apps and so on and I've yet to try any of them. This is due to the fact that this 'wifi ready' set doesn't have wifi; you have to buy the LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi USB Adaptor or use a cat5 cable. I almost dinged the overall rating stars because of this. Even sub-$100 gadgets like apple TV has wifi built in. I decided against the ding and have ordered the dongle but boy is it frustrating to spend four figures on a set up only to find you're missing a 1 inch long peripheral that cost $20 or so. This also means I haven't had chance to try the supplied extra mouse pointer wii-like remote controller (you also get a nice light-up normal remote) although it does look interesting.

Sound is also unused in my set up as I have a 7.1 receiver. Usually sound on these sets is passable but nothing to write home about - I can't imagine this set pumps out huge bass because it's so thin, but perhaps the speakers are in the base or something. In all honestly if you're getting this TV then you probably already have equipment that sounds better than the in built speakers though.

Almost certainly due to the high brightness that I have this set I do notice a lot of inherent memory. This is often thought to be burn-in on plasmas and I read in another review for this plasma TV that they were whitewashing the set every night to rectify it. Please don't do this! Temporary image retention is normal for a plasma and it self corrects itself fairly quickly once you start watching something else. This set 'suffers' from it no more than any other plasma that I've seen and I just wanted to put that out there in case you bought it and thought you'd ruined it with some burn in.

So what we have here is a utterly stunning TV that's got everything you need. It's ten steps ahead of my three year old plasma in all respects plus it's 70lbs lighter. I cannot recommend this TV highly enough regardless of whether you're into the 3D thing. What a great set.

The SONY KBL32BX450 with high definition 1080p is an entry level model with outstanding picture quality. This is a highly recommended HDTV for you.

I had researched purchasing HDTV for the bedroom and the SONY is better than the rest (LG, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC and budget models). You pay more for the SONY but you getting a SONY. It is worth the difference. Do not compromise.

This is a new 2011 model with basic features. There is no Wifi, this is 60Hz and is not an LED TV (however picture quality compares to LED sets). There are only two HDMI ports that may not be enough for some people. The only "complaint" is the sound quality. You will need to adjust the bass/treble and use the equalizer in Custom Mode. It is the same issue that flat screen sets just don't have great speakers. Regardless, this is an excellent television.

There are enough settings with options to calibrate and customize the picture to your liking. It is best to disable the ambient light sensor that restricts the brightness and vivid contrast of the picture. Once calibrated, the picture is awesome. The fleshtones are realistic. There is abundant contrast with the blacks are coal black and whites are bright white. The colors are vivid and vibrant. The set will require picture adjustment and calibration out of the box. Motion blur is almost non-existant for a 60Hz set.

The features and specs of this set are well documented. You have a USB port to view pictures and videos.

If you are very budget conscience then consider the SONY 720p model KDL32BX320. This is also a great set but you don't pay for the Full HD. If you won't do gaming or watch BluRay then this may be for you. If you are looking to install in your living room then look for a SONY with a larger screen.

I purchased this from a store with special grand opening sale but wanted to post review for Amazon folks. I would typically buy from Amazon.

After researching Bravia TVs, I decided to go ahead with this one since it is one of the newer releases for 2011. I'm glad I waited, as this TV is clearer and more vivid than those of some older models or rival brands. Picture quality is clear with no fog or motion blur. PS3 games and Netflix look absolutely amazing. The only thing this TV needs now is a sound system to broaden the audio experience. If you're having sound issues, try messing around with the 'steady sound' and 'clear voice' options to even things out and make them less muddy.

In stores you may see this TV's picture slightly less bright than others, but that is because of the built in light sensor that's located on the front of the frame. The picture automatically adjusts to best fit it's surroundings, and that's what's truly great. No fussing with brightness settings all the time.

Overall, worth every penny. Stick with Sony and you won't be disappointed.

I'm very pleased with this purchase from Amazon in every regard. My HDTV source is an over-the-air antenna in the attic. Being a retired TV tech, I was looking for the chassis during the unpacking process. I come to find out the chassis and display are a unit about a half inch thick. This product comes set up for retail store display which is too bright and gawdy. Follow the simple instructions to change that to home display which is excellent with no need to change. Unless you are an experienced pro you'll create a challenge. Set the LED backlighting
for "best Picture" The range is 0-20. Somewhere in between is fine. Setting too high or too low is very apparent. You'll know it when you see it. Sharpness is a video adjustment. For best picture along edges and borders without distortion set this control low or off. The range is 0-100.
This is a very satisfying product. If you are a Blue-Ray and Video game fan, you might want to select a product with higher native definition and refresh speed such as 1080P/120.The 720P/60 is good enough for most uses. You won't find many TV broadcasters transmitting 1080P anyway.

I selected this model for these reasons - 1: Thin case LED display, 2: Light weight to hang from the wall, 3: The even & sleek edge-trim around all corners of the TV, 5: Available inputs, and 6: Newest Samsung model. The 32" seemed about the right size for a guest bedroom in our home. Picked up a wall mount locally so didn't use the provided stand.

At first I was looking for a TV spec'd at 1080P, but with the certain features I wanted as noted above, and the price range, this 720P fits the bill for our needs just right. The picture quality is absolutely amazing and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. The screen is bright, colors are vivid and the image is perfect. I didn't try adjusting anything as it looked perfectly clear to me right out of the box. From all areas of the room, the viewing angle is good. The only thing I didn't like was the dongle/pigtail connector for the RCA analog inputs as it would have been nice to have those connectors built right into the rear of the TV but I suppose that's too much to cram into this thin display (didnt need these anyway - using HDMI). Also thought it was odd that it didn't come with a short coax cable for the antenna/cable input.

I don't have cable - using OTA HDTV and Netflix streaming via an attached player. The TV quickly found all channels in my area with no problems. When I first turned the unit on, I selected AIR as opposed to Cable, and it went right into the channel scan so setup was easy.

I purchased this item a little over a month ago and I could not be more pleased with the decision. Before making the purchase, I kept switching between Plasma and LCD but I settled on LCD because it was going to be in a room with several outside light sources. The step up was easy and the picture quality is excellent. I love the built-in Wi-Fi, which was a feature that I wanted in a new TV. There are plenty of input/output ports so that you can connect whatever equipment you may need (i.e. cable, surround sound, DVD, gaming console).

After set up you will need to calibrate the picture to make it look the best, but once complete the picture is beautiful! As far as sound quality from the internal speakers goes this tv is really good when compared to some other brands of LED/LCD tv's (LG TV's sound like an old AM radio), but not as good as the speakers in my old Sharp Aquos LC45d40u. As with all flat panel tv's you should invest in a good surround sound system or sound bar to get the movie theater experience. It's nice having Netflix on the TV as I can search for movies faster than I can on my TiVo Premiere. When watching HD you will also probably want to turn down the Film Mode to Standard to eliminate the "Soap Opera" effect which makes it look as though you are on the set watching them film live, but will also show some "judder" as people move around, especially on Advanced High. For DVD's Leaving Film Mode on Advanced Low will lessen the "judder" but will also make DVD look like Blu Ray!

Bought this set from another store, but read up on the reviews here. Not very happy with set and contimplating taking it back. The worst part as mention above is the stand. It wobbles too much. I am pretty sure it won't get knocked over, but still it should be more solid than that. The picture is not as sharp as it was in the store. I have DirecTv. People's faces seem fuzzy. Words seem blurry. I have a 55" Samsung that I truely love and that is why I stuck with the brand for this one. Really think I might take this one back. My old set had better picture. Only had it one day.

About a year ago I bought the 22 inch version of this TV and was very impressed with the picture - better than a new Sony my dad has. The sound was not important because I have it hooked up to my stereo. The 32 inch one I just bought is in the living room and not hooked to a stereo - sound is OK at best. Picture is brilliant. 5 stars for the picture, 3 for the sound. And now the bad part - the stand is pitiful, it wobbles and leans and is simply not substantial enough for the TV. I had to prop up the left side with a book and a coaster to get the thing to stay level. The TV is set up in a wall cabinet, so it does not get bumped and I can live with the book propping it up, but I'm telling you the stand is practically worthless. The stand gets '0' stars. But since the picture is fantastic, and you might be buying it for wall mount and hooking to your stereo, these issues can be marginal for you.

This is probably the best TV I've ever owned. A nice, sharp, crisp picture. But the HD, along with the digital/HD signals being sent/broadcast, clearly show the fake "sets" that are used in most of the scheduled programming. In that regard, the old broadcast, non-digital/HD broadcasts were much better - the sets were usually believable then. Well - that's progress. Toshiba 55SL412U 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV, BlackThankfully, that isn't the case with sports broadcasts.

first impression is very positive.the tv has nice black levels which lead to high contrast, colors are accurate and sound is acceptable.this is an entry level 1080p tv, so not many bells and whistles-usb port-not as useful as samsungs and lg's,will only play flash or portable hard drive formatted in fat32-very limited format-codecs support is almost nill.why does sony have to make these features so limited when the competition is much advanced(samsung, lg).first tv had quality control issues with display-half the screen was nice and white while other half was a dirty white.you could also see specs of dust throughout the screen(in the screen,not on)returned for exchange.second tv had backlight bleed which was unacceptable waiting for replacement.kudos to amazon-best web retailer period-gave me $75.00 credit for the hassles with tv.mind you this tv has quite impresive picture, hd is flawless colors nice and saturated not overkill again black levels nice and deep most likely better than more expensive models.sony and samsung use same s-pva panels but i don't think sony plays the panel lottery-positive thing-so you will always get quality panel.light bleed and dirty panel is assembly issue not panel quality.highy recommended if you get one with no issues

This is a great TV, at a great price. I love the picture quality in 2D and 3D (with the optional AG-S250 glasses), it performs extremely well with my Xbox 360 and PS3 and I'm happy I invested the extra money over the PZ550 and PZ750 - the Magic Remote, THX certification and TruBlack Filter were definitely worth it for my purposes.

Netflix is a nice feature and I hope they will keep updating this software, as it could have more picture/zoom settings - it doesn't really matter if you have other streaming devices, but it's still a point that could be improved.

I know this is not very much information, I've only had the TV for a week now, but I'd definitely recommend it to other customers and might update this review over time.

After pouring through different reviews, forums and any other info I could find on the latest and greatest for 2011, I narrowed my search down to the Panasonic GT30/VT30's or the LGPZ950. I saw a lot of good things about the VT30 from Panasonic but it seemed like the new LGs had a lot of the same features and some extras. The price was right and it was available while the panasonics still had a ways to go before launch so I took the plunge and ordered the LG. Sooooo glad I did. This TV is awesome. Set up was a breeze. The set looks beautiful. Sleek and seamless. The picture is as good or better than anything I've ever seen. Both 2D and 3D look amazing and i didnt get dizzy at all watching 3D like i do in the theaters or on other TVs I've seen at the big box stores.

The apps and media share are great features. The UI in the home screen is very easy to navigate. Setting up wireless connection was also very easy. Everything just kind of worked right out of the box. Integrated Netflix and YouTube is a nice touch, not to mention all the other apps for your social networking. I don't know how much I'll use that stuff since it's way easier just to check those things on a computer really quick, but the option of being able to do it on your TV is nice. The web browser is ok, definitely not going replace your laptop or PC but good enough if you don't want to get up and go to your other tech to look something up or post an update.

I am very pleased with this purchase. I may just be in the honeymoon phase but it is definitely a lot more than I expected. Cheers to LG for a great TV at a very reasonable price.

First I would like to warn everyone on a delivery scam that Pilot trucking is pulling on Amazon and its cutomers.My TV was shipped to their Atlanta hub and arrived on April 4th...delivery estimate April 8th.I called Pilot on the 8th about 4pm to see whats up.They said they did not have the TV anymore it was picked up by another company J.P.Hall for final delivery.OK called Hall about the TV....a little snicker and a no way today,was told they would have a truck in my area next tuesday the 12th and next thursday the 14th..of course I picked Tuesday.On monday I received a call from Hall saying a truck was in Athens Ga with my TV but the helper was sick and if I could help get it off they would deliver it that day.I had to tell them because of my bad health there was no way I could do this.They said they would bring it tommorow.Ok Tuesday comes around no TV.I call Hall they say the Driver is waiting to pick up someone to help him.The Driver calls me about 5pm and tells me the guy didnt show up and asked again if I could help him.I said no again and He promised me first off tommorow Wed.OK wed. gets here no TV about 4pm I call Hall nope no help today no delivery...Thursday....I told them I have been forced to be home for 4 days now and need it by noon thursday because I had plans that afternoon.They said they would make it Happen..Thursday 10am the truck shows up....No helper just a driver.They put it off on Him because he was a large strong guy..but a 160lb TV one man?To get the TV I helped Him get it off and unpacked and set up...Thru the grace of God after riding around in 3 differnt Hall trucks for over a week it was still intact...I felt sorry for the driver being put in this situation.After talking to the Driver found out They dont have two people on any truck to do white glove delivery that Amazon promises.they try to hook up with another driver to get this done.Thats why they kept asking for my help.Shame on Pilot for letting this happen.6 months earlier they delivered a 2 lb fishing rod in a big truck with 2 guys.lol The delivery bill I signed was a Pilot bill of shipping so Amazon would think they deliverd it
I called Amazon about it and they were shocked and concerned their customers were getting this kind of service.
they apologized and gave me a nice amount of cash for my inconvenance.and they were glad I called them and would resolve the problem.I love Amazon service.
Now for the LG60PZ950.I did great research ob LCD...Backlit LCD-LED and Plasma TV's...After 4 years of suffering with a samsung DLP that just died DLP was out.Finaly went with Plasma...three real brands to pick from..Samsung..Panasonic and LG.Samsung is out because of poor service and bad design of the DLP and stories of high pitch sounds...Panasonic was my frontrunner till I heard of color problems on newer tv's and Panasonic not addressing the problem...read great reviews on the LG...but what sold me was seeing the LG and Panasonic and Samsung all at once...The LG won on all accounts to me.
Iam so glad I bought this TV...The best picture I have ever seen as good or better than my friends Pioneer.
Out of the box the color was right on..I broke it in ,if it is really needed?,by running 24-7 for 5 days on the THX setting overnight on HBO HD movie channel...no problems at all.Picture quality is great...3D was bought for my 11 year old and is exceptional...PS3 has a firmware upgrade so you can watch 3D blueray disc and play 3D games very cool.Netflix offers 3D disc sent to your home,not alot yet but sure more will come..
hooked the TV up hardwired to my DSL...upgrade TV software(took about an Hour)gave mr more apps...now have about 12 apps and lots of games...The browser works fine but will probably use my computer much faster on my pc..Used the optical out to hook up to my receiver optical input for 5.1 sound when we watch movies...set up was easy tons of ways to hook up multiple things...the built in speakers are fine for everday use...but a surround sound system makes it killer..Ther is not anything about this TV I dislike...I bought the 4 year Square deal warranty and thanks to the cash Amazon gave me it was almost free.Iam watching it now as I write this and So glad I picked the LG60PZ950 and would recomend it to anyone...

UPDATE 04/22/2011...Ok tried to get my Netflix to load on my LG.Received an activation number from the TV went to netflix and actavated the number...successfully....but when I click on Netflix on the LG it comes up with a software error...repeated the process like 10 times...same deal...called Netflix they said it was the TV not them.If You wanted to know about LG's service here is what happened...Called LG within 3 mins I was talking to a servis ReP...This was like 10pm Wed.She said she would have a certified LG tech at my house Friday between 12-5pm..he called at 12:30 and was here at1pm..check tv couldnt get netflix to work...We both figured the...
